Over the last 30 years, Jon worked for the Australian Agents for the three major endoscope manufacturers including as the National Manager of the Medical Division of C R Kennedy & Company who were at one time the Australian agents for Pentax Endoscopes and currently Fuji Film Endoscopy.
The ever-evolving complexity of the flexible endoscope has introduced its own category of reprocessing requirements and this speciality has grown in tandem with the instruments. This area has brought its own set of demands on the industry supporting it, it has become a speciality within a speciality. C R Kennedy imported the Medivator, the first successful Automatic Endoscope Reprocessor (AER) to Australia. Jon was again responsible for the development of the specialised support for this. The product has become one of the most successful in its field. The manufacturer Cantel has now entered the Australian market direct. Jon continues to work as a consultant for Cantel Australia.
Jon trained as a communications technician in Sydney. After almost a decade with the PMG, he moved to Drug Houses of Australia, (DHA) as an electronics technician and from there began a career in the medical industry.
